The Fall Talavera Community Association potluck and meeting will take place on Saturday, November 16 starting at 5:30 at the Talavera Fire Station. As always the Association will provide brisket and chicken and residents can bring side-dishes and desserts to share with neighbors. There will not be a road cleanup on that day, but we will schedule one for the Spring.

We will have a brief meeting after we eat, which will be an opportunity to catch up with your neighbors and to thank the Fire Department for hosting their Halloween social, which we hope will become an annual event. We will also be visited by the Friends of the Organ Mountains and by a representative from Representative Pearce’s office, and they will describe their proposals for protection of the Organ Mountains and related lands and then answer questions. We will also update everyone on the Talavera Propane Co-op, and we hope to discuss revitalizing our Neighborhood Watch program, in the wake of several break-ins that occurred in the past week in the area.

Please remember to park so fire trucks can exit if they are needed, and avoid parking on both sides of Achenbach Canyon Road so the street remains passable for residents and emergency vehicles. When parking, please make more room for neighbors’ cars by pulling into a parking space instead of parallel parking.
