Saturday, June 18th

As summer starts to kick in we are ready to move into our community activities. Our next community cleanup and potluck/meeting will take place on Saturday, June 18th. It is starting to warm up so we are beginning the cleanup a little earlier to beat the heat. This effort helps us all when we come together to keep our community the way we like it; free of trash and debris that has accumulated during the Spring.

There will be a dumpster at the firehouse to dump trash. Residents can (and should) think about clearing brush that is close to their house that could burn in a grassland fire and endanger their home. A burn-free zone around your house is important as New Mexico gets drier and fire danger increases. The cleanup starts at the firehouse at 8:00 am, where road assignments can be picked up along with trash bags (and who knows, maybe t-shirts!).

The potluck will start at 5:30 pm at the firehouse with the TCA providing fried chicken and community residents bringing a dish to share with your neighbors. Immediately after the community meal we will talk about topics of importance and information relevant to the community.

Meeting Topics include:

D The Verizon tower (Done?)

D Safe driving in our community

D New Propane Vendor in the Community

D Night Sky cooperation

D Reptiles/Snakes/Turtles and Rodents

Please feel free to bring up any topics you would like the community to know or to discuss together, and to contact Perry Ashby or another Board member please visit the website at www.talaveraca.org
