Dripping Springs Road Project Underway
Have you noticed the crews working on Dripping Springs Road at the Tortugas Arroyo crossing? Those workers are the first phase of the much awaited arroyo crossing bridge. Phase 1 of the project is the relocation of utility lines in the area. This phase is scheduled to be completed by October 7. Beginning the first week in October, crews will start grading for the detour, and installing signage and barriers. The detour will open around October 22. The new bridge is scheduled to open to traffic on December 24, 2007.
If you attended the September 15 TCA meeting, Jorge Grenados presented the schedule and showed us a drawing of the bridge. This crossing is no longer a ‘box culvert’, but instead will be a 3 arch bridge. Each arch will be 32′ wide by 9 feet high. Final cleanup should be finished by January 20.
