Vistas Blueprint Community Planning Event

The New Mexico State Land Office has asked the City of Las Cruces Community Development Department to lead a planning process for the undeveloped state lands on the East Mesa to be known as the Vistas Blueprint. This area is located north of Lohmann and east of Sonoma Ranch Blvd, extending far into the desert north of us (see map). Development there will affect Talavera.

The public is invited to learn about the project and share ideas at the Vistas kick-off event Thursday, March 20, 6 p.m. at the Doña Ana Community College East Mesa Campus, 2800 N. Sonoma Ranch Blvd., Student Resources Building.

Community planning blueprints are tools the City of Las Cruces uses to establish policies for unique or specific areas in the city. These blueprints are tailored to the needs and opportunities presented by the planning area in question. Upon adoption by City Council, blueprints become part of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and help form future planning and development decisions.

People with disabilities who need special accommodations to fully participate in these informal events may call the Las Cruces Community Development Department at least 48 hours in advance at 575/528-3043.

Individuals who have comments or questions but are unable to attend may contact Srijana Basnyat at 575/528-3079 or by e-mail
