Keep Doña Ana County Beautiful gives clean-up supplies to community groups

LAS CRUCES – Keep Doña Ana County Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, recently provided litter-abatement supplies to the La Mesa Lions Club and the Talavera Housing (edited: Community) Association to support upcoming clean-up activities.

KDACB helps improve the quality of life in Doña Ana County communities by forming partnerships with local organizations. It supports neighborhood clean-up events by providing reflective vests collection containers, trash grabbers, gloves and trash bags and other supplies.

Community clean-up initiatives help improve and beautify neighborhoods countywide.  KDACB shares in the national organization’s goal to build and maintain clean, green and beautiful spaces.

Paul Thomason, La Mesa Lions Club member organizes an Adopt-a-Highway cleanup in La Mesa, every year.  Thomason and other club volunteers plan a fall clean-up along NM Highway 28, just south of La Mesa.

Jerry Wertz, clean-up coordinator with the Talavera Housing (edited: Community) Association will coordinate two roadside clean-ups in October and March.

“I appreciate the help Keep Doña Ana County Beautiful has given our group. They are really committed to keeping Doña Ana County litter-free and we thank them,” Wertz said.
